Dr. Duško Pejović

Dr. Dusko Pejovic was born in 1960 in Cajnice in Bosnia and Herzegovina, where he completed primary and high school. He graduated from the Faculty of Economics of the University of Sarajevo, Department of Business Economy and Finances. He completed post-graduate studies at the Faculty of Economics in Pale of the University of East Sarajevo, and successfully defended Master's Thesis on: "Role of Internal Control and Internal Audit in the Management Decision-Making Process". In 2010 at the Faculty of Business Economics in Bijeljina of the University of East Sarajevo, he successfully defended PhD titled: "Planning and Documenting Public Sector Financial Audit" and acquired title of PhD in Economics.

He has more than 30 years of working experience, whereby over nine years in accounting and financial matters in state-owned companies, eight years as the manager of state-owned companies and nearly eight years in public sector audit of the Republic of Srpska. He was employed in the State Audit Institution of the Republic of Serbia in the end of 2010, at the position of Certified State Auditor. He served as the Supreme State Auditor in the Sector for Audit of Local Authorities' Budgets from 2012 until 2018. On 25th April 2018, he was elected the President of the Council of the State Audit Institution by the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, and at the same time he serves as Auditor-General and general manager of the Institution.

So far, he has published more than 35 papers and is an active lecturer on accounting, finances and audit for budget funds beneficiaries. He is the author of the Public Sector Auditing Manual. He is the Chairman of the Commission for Acquiring State Auditor and Certified State Auditor Titles.

So far, he has acquired the following certificates: certified accountant, auditor, certified auditor, certified assessor, certified internal auditor and court-appointed expert in financial matters; and state auditor and certified state auditor. He participated in numerous international audit-related events. Regarding projects, he participated in a seven-year project of strengthening capacity, implemented by the Swedish National Audit Office with the Supreme Audit Institution of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as in a two-year Twinning Project "Strengthening Capacities of the State Audit Institution", which was realized by the State Audit Institution, in cooperation with the Netherlands Court of Audit and National Audit Office of the United Kingdom. He also participated in the Twinning Light Project "Audit Quality Control in the State Audit Institution", implemented with the State Audit Office of the Republic of Latvia.

He is married, father of two.
