Today, the President of the State Audit Institution and Auditor General, Dr. Dusko Pejović, and his associates held a working meeting with the delegation of the Supreme Office for the Republic of Srpska Public Sector Auditing, led by Auditor General, Mr. Jovo Radukić, on the development of audit methodologies and digitalization of audit procedures.

Representatives of the State Audit Institution shared with colleagues from the Republic of Srpska the experience in the field of development of the Methodology for auditing financial statements, Methodology for auditing financial statements and compliance of operations, as well as in the field of Methodological rules and guidelines for IT audit. The meeting also included discussion on the establishment of a system for automatization of the audit process of the State Audit Institution - AMS software.

In the course of one year, as it was said at the meeting, the State Audit Institution has made significant steps in order to improve the work in the Institution. Business process mapping has been completed and the procurement of AMS software has been launched, information technology self-assessment (ITSA) has been conducted, new licenses for IDEA software have been procured, and Methodological rules and guidelines for IT audit have been adopted.

The Auditor General, Dr. Dusko Pejovic, emphasized that the State Audit Institution was working on establishing a system for automation of the audit procedure - AMS software, which will be tested by the end of the year. After the testing, as he said, its full application is expected.

AMS software will, among other things, facilitate audit planning, provide a database of all audit entities, enable monitoring of the audit flow; also, it will ensure the status of recommendations and reports, but also enable electronic management of documents in the audit process. For that very reason, the SAI will be among the first state bodies to digitize its processes, said Dr. Pejović.

In addition to Dr. Pejović, Ivica Gavrilović, Supreme State Auditor, Dragan Stojanović and Željko Motić, State Auditors, and Goran Ljubić, Advisor, also attended the meeting on behalf of the State Audit Institution. The delegation of the Supreme Office for the Republic of Srpska Public Sector Auditing , apart from the Auditor General Radukić, consisted of Renata Čajić Kužet, Head of the Sector for Development, Methodology and Quality Control and Milan Banika, Head of the Sector for Information Technologies.

The working meeting was organized within the Memorandum on Professional Cooperation, which was signed by the heads of the State Audit Institution of the Republic of Serbia and the Supreme Office for the Republic of Srpska Public Sector Auditing on February 6, 2020 in Belgrade.

Areas of cooperation envisaged by the Memorandum also include exchange of experiences in the translation and application of INTOSAI standards and other professional regulations, and organization of joint trainings, workshops, seminars in the field of external audit of the public sector.
