The President of the State Audit Institution and the Auditor General of the Republic of Serbia, Dr. Dusko Pejovic, and the Auditor General of the State Audit Office of the Republic of Northern Macedonia, Mr. Maksim Acevski, signed a Cooperation Agreement in Skopje today.
The signing of the Agreement will enable the two Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs) to cooperate in implementing the principles, standards and guidelines of the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI) and good practice, improving professional and technical cooperation, providing mutual assistance in staff training, information exchange, as well as the exchange of experiences for the improvement of the public audit methodology.
Dr. Pejović emphasized that the cooperation between the two SAIs is necessary, primarily due to the exchange of experiences in the field of auditing.
The State Audit Institution and the State Audit Office will cooperate intensively this year, because our auditors are conducting a parallel performance audit, which is important for both institutions, Dr. Pejović said.
As the auditors of both SAIs conduct a parallel performance audit, covering the same topic important for both Institutions, the cooperation will be stronger and more useful during the year.
At the proposal of the Auditor-General of the Republic of Northern Macedonia, Mr. Maksim Acevski, it was agreed to hold meetings of the two Institutions twice a year - once in each Institution. He expressed gratitude for the donation of vaccines against the Coronavirus, donated by Serbia to Northern Macedonia.
Apart from Dr. Pejović, on behalf of the State Audit Institution the signing of the Agreement was attended by members of the Council Dr. Bojana Mitrović, Ms. Ljiljana Dimitrijević and Ms. Mariana Simović, Supreme State Auditor Mr. Ivica Gavrilović, Secretary of the Institution Ms. Milena Milinković and Senior Adviser Mr. Tomislav Jovanović.
