Representatives of the State Audit Institution will participate from April 2021 to February 2022 in online workshops dedicated to performance audits, carried out as the activity of the Joint Working Group for Audit Activities (JWGAA), which provides support to the SAI Network of countries candidates and potential candidates for the EU membership and the European Court of Auditors.
The workshops will be dedicated to designing, implementing performance audit, audit report writing and the finalization of the audit report.
At the first systematized performance audit training program in the region, six representatives of the SAI will acquire skills for this type of audit, in accordance with best practices and international standards of auditing.
A Joint Working Group for an Audit Activities (JWGAA) was founded in 2002, aiming to facilitate cooperation between the Supreme Audit Institutions (SAI) from present and future members of the EU, and to provide support and assist in the exchange of experiences in institutional development process, transition and negotiation in the EU accession. As Co-Chair of JWGAA, National Audit Office of Sweden provides support to SAI members of the Network in their regional activities, which generally include joint workshops and seminars.
Performance audit is recognized as one of the priority development areas among members of JWGAA, because developed capacities for this type of audit are one of the conditions defined in Chapter 32 within the negotiation process on EU accession.
